Sean Ivan, LMT, CPT
Licensed Massage Therapist
Sean Ivan is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with nearly three decades of experience specializing in soft tissue pain and injury rehabilitation. Since beginning his practice in 1996, Sean has dedicated his career to helping clients eliminate pain and restore function through advanced manual therapy, movement correction, and exercise integration. Sean practices the philosophy of Structural Functional Medicine — an approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of soft tissue pain and dysfunction. His methods include Muscular Re-education, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Structural Rehabilitation, and Kinesiotaping, forming a comprehensive and restorative system that promotes long-term recovery.
Throughout his career, Sean has worked across multiple disciplines, collaborating with professionals in Orthopedics, Osteopathy, Chiropractic, and Neurology, as well as maintaining an extensive private practice. He has also worked with numerous professional athletes in golf, football, baseball, and hockey.
Before entering the health field, Sean proudly served in the United States Army as a Combat Medic, an experience that deepened his commitment to helping others heal. After his military service, he pursued his formal training at the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in Jacksonville, Florida, earning his professional certification and state licensure in massage therapy.
Sean’s expertise and leadership in the massage therapy field have spanned roles as an educator, administrator, and clinician. He became an assistant instructor to Kyle Wright for the Clinical Neuromuscular Massage program and later advanced to teaching Functional Anatomy. Sean went on to serve as Director of the Greenville Southeastern School and later as Corporate Director of Education overseeing campuses in Jacksonville, FL; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; Greenville, SC; and Charlotte, NC.
In addition to his administrative and teaching roles, Sean has practiced at the Wright Centers of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy in Jacksonville, FL; Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; and Greenville, SC, specializing in pain management, soft tissue dysfunction, and structural rehabilitation. His clinical experience includes working with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Greenville Growl hockey team, and multiple professional golfers in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Following the acquisition of Southeastern Schools by Keiser Career College, Sean joined the Jacksonville Health and Wellness Center, where he refined his integrated approach combining massage therapy and corrective exercise. His Structural Rehabilitation Program—which pairs massage to lengthen and rehabilitation to strengthen—has proven highly successful in treating chronic pain and improving mobility.
Sean currently serves as the Director of the Florida School of Advanced Bodywork, where he teaches Kinesiology and Clinical Structural Bodywork. His teaching experience extends to respected institutions such as Keiser Career College, Furman University, Clemson University, University of North Florida, and the Jacksonville School of Massage.
