Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Heather R. Fisse is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) whose practice integrates mind, body, and spirit into a unified approach to healing and wellness.
She holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program at the University of North Florida and is currently licensed in the state of Florida (MH13170). Heather is also working toward certification as a Gottman Couples Therapist, with expected completion in Fall 2015. She has completed over 100 hours of psychodrama training in both individual and group therapy.
Heather has attended numerous trainings in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Functional Medicine approaches to psychological distress, exploring the powerful connection between brain and body dysfunction. She combines these modalities with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Psychology to offer a deeply holistic, client-centered approach to counseling and personal growth.
In addition to her counseling expertise, Heather is an experienced massage therapist, having graduated from the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage in 2008. As a Licensed Massage Therapist (MA53350), she has developed a comprehensive understanding of wellness and the interplay between physical, psychological, and emotional health. Her work incorporates modalities such as neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release to address physical tension and imbalance, while simultaneously nurturing self-awareness and self-care practices.
Heather is also a certified and registered Yoga Teacher specializing in Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, and Kripalu Yoga. She completed her 200-hour certification in 2012 and has continued her education with a 40-hour Bhakti Flow training and immersion into the integrative practice of Yoga Nidra.
Beyond teaching weekly mind-body classes at Yoga Den, she also collaborates with clients at Jacksonville Health & Wellness Center to design customized yoga practices that support physical, mental, and emotional balance.
